Improved
This is my improved "River Flows in You". I notice I am playing it way too fast which is an indication I am getting sick of the song. I am going to take a break from it now.

If you choose to listen to the recording, you may notice several things. One of them is my mother speaking on the phone. She is actually speaking in the basement, a level lower, than where the piano is. Therefore, this gives an indication of how loud she is. You may also hear my cuckoo clock towards the end of the song. I think it adds a touch of symbolism. I also pause to turn the pages, which is a little annoying.

Holiday Cheer
It's December 27th and I'm hungover.

From all the prescription drugs I've been taking.

I guess that's why they call it a drug cocktail.

Except that I'm not taking any drugs together.

Pinga, if you must know I'm on Cefuroxime now.

Go look it up.

Nothing's Changed
I'm still sick. Except the phlegm that I'm coughing out is becoming thicker in consistency. I hear that's a good thing. I'm not sure though.

I watched Elf yesterday. Well I started watching it on TV when we suddenly had the Maidenhair Blackout. Yes, the Maidenhair Blackout. No power for our entire road. It started to get pretty cold too and then the power came back on again. I finished watching the movie online. It was really cute.

Dr. Mom
So I've been sick since Sunday night but I believe that it has gotten worse today and it is starting to ruin my holiday. This is depressing. My mom keeps giving me these remedies which she says are recommended by "Dr. Mom" (and believe or not, this is her). I keep telling her thatt Dr. Mom doesn't have her MD degree or any other credentials. She keeps insinuating that she doesn't need any.

Lucius Malfoy
Jason Isaacs is hot. 'Nuff said.

I hope he is cast as one of the Volturi for New Moon.

Padden Would Be Proud
I'm thinking about creating a slightly altered version of the Yiruma composition.
It will be entitled "River floods in you (due to increased siltation of channel beds)".

I could also do "River meanders in you"

What do you think?

My "River Flows in You"

I haven't learned most of it past the first page properly and I do not sound even close to Yurima but I am proud of the progress I've made. It's also a good distraction from studying.

You're Not Gonna Score
I was listening to You're Not Gonna Score by Untamed and the lyrics really surprised me.

"You keep calling me on my cell phone. Don't you get it? I'm never at home."

Are they kidding me?

These Boots Are Made For Walking

So I was watching the video to Nancy Sinatra's These Boots Are Made for Walking and the dancing cracks me up every time. The arm movements she makes in the picture above are KILLER. I can't believe these movements were the norm in the 60s -- the dancing in this video is supposed to be, more or less, provocative. I wish these moves were still in. It would make my dancing look less awkward.

Anyone, anywhere can get HIV
Looking for any distraction of any sort is what I like doing when studying for exams. I believe that today, I found the best one (I am being sarcastic here). It gets quite irritating after a while.

http://posornot.com/

Yes, that’s right. You look at people’s pictures and guess whether they are positive for the HIV virus. It’s a little disturbing of a hobby to take on but I did it. I’ve even taken the liberty of performing a statistical analysis of my results (well, sort of).

85% of the time, the trick to guessing correctly is to say that all the promiscuous looking people who look like they are sleeping around are HIV negative. People with higher socioeconomic status are usually HIV positive. People who love their mothers are HIV positive. Really fruity looking guys are HIV negative. They want to challenge your preconceptions on who contracts the disease. Well, good job. I am a changed person.

Secret Code
Today was my Big Questions exam. Nothing special about it. Except that the room I was in also had students writing Engineering Physics. And right before the exam, as we were taking our seats, all I heard was a chorus of

"We finally made it. We have a black president"
"Ya man"

from these Engineering guys.

It was kind of creepy. Is this they're way of saying good luck to each other?

Childhood Lust (yes, that's right)
So I was contemplating about my childhood today rather than studying for exams.

And I realized, becuase of Barney, I had my first crush when I was four.

No, no. I did not have a crush on Barney. I had a crush on one of the kids whose character was named Michael. Skinny, blonde, white kid. Damn him. He probably set my fixation on white guys for life. I just have not always realized this because at that age, I was not able to sort my feelings. I distinctly remember my strong attraction to him and his presence in my dreams. How disturbing! I looked him up on IMDB and realize that I was not the only one with this childhood crush so that's a relief.

So my first crush was not my grade 1 piano examiner, whom I also remember and would still think was hot. I found my six year old self very distracted by his presence which is never good in an examination setting.

Just thought I'd post this because it was a big epiphany for me. I am not as much the asexual creature I thought I was.
P.S. I'm posting a picture, Pinga.
